Free Counselling and Psychotherapy

At Turning Point, we recognize the profound impact of the residential and day school systems in Canada. With a team of therapists specialized in these areas of therapy, we are dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by these experiences. As part of our commitment, we offer free counselling services through the Indian Residential School Resolution Health Support Program (IRSRHSP) in collaboration with Health Canada. We firmly believe that healing and support should be accessible to all, which is why our services are provided at no cost.

The IRSRHSP is a federal program available across Canada, ensuring that individuals can access the support they need without any financial burden. Through this program, sessions are directly billed to Health Canada, eliminating the need for pre-payment or reimbursement and simplifying the process. Our aim is to break down barriers and promote reconciliation by addressing intergenerational trauma caused by the residential and day school systems. It's important to note that the program extends its coverage to not only survivors of these schools but also their children, grandchildren, spouses, and other family members, fostering healing across generations.

We understand that indigenous counselling, healing, and wellness require a deep understanding of the cultural experiences and challenges faced by indigenous communities.
